SETIP is saluting the thousands of employees of Teleperformance, Webhelp, TTEC, Foundever and Cosmote E-value who striked on Monday the 19th in massive numbers, many more than the previous strike on February 8th, making this the biggest strike for call centers in Greece in recent years.

We salute the hundreds who joined the strike for the first time, emerging stronger and more decisive, after a severe wave of coordinated intimidation by the management, personal and professional harassment and a creative web of lies spread hour after hour. We are stronger today than we were yesterday!

We salute the hundreds who striked all around Greece, those who mobilized their colleagues and those who joined our vivid rallies in front of the buildings. During our rally outside of the Ministry of Labour, a delegation met with the General Secretary of the Ministry and delivered our demands, denounced the managements for delaying to start the negotiations and demanded the abolition of the special visa regime. We will continue by putting more pressure on the Ministry of Immigration as well.

We are proud to announce to all employees that our struggle has now gained a special type of “medal of honor”, typical for all big strike actions in the history, our own first lawsuit by Teleperformance against SETIP! It seems that the strike has hit them hard because they are now claiming that SETIP is not a legitimate partner to negotiate and discuss the Collective Agreement with them.

They seem to have used the “lawsuit card” to buy some extra time and avoid starting negotiations. In this way, it is as if Teleperformance is suing the thousands of workers who are demanding a Collective Agreement with raises now! It’s like suing our demand for survival!

Let us remind the management that they have already recognized SETIP as a representative of the employees many years ago. Let’s put aside all pretenses and let’s discuss on the basis of the Collective Labour Agreement we have proposed addressing our specific demands.

In the end, it is the workers of the companies themselves who will negotiate the terms and sign the wage increases, who have raised their united voices and demand an answer.

Taking all these into consideration, we escalate our struggle and proceed as followed:

  1. 3h strike from 8am to 11am on Thursday 22/2 to make it easier for the colleagues to participate at the meeting outside the Courthouse (Evelpidon street – building 11) where the hearing of the lawsuit will take place.
  2. Open Meeting in Labor Center of Piraeus, Sunday 25/2 at 12.00 to discuss for the escalation of our struggle and on the Draft Collective Agreement, that is a text in which we will list all our demands concretely and on which we will negotiate with the companies.
  3. Schedule meeting with the Ministry of Immigration.
  4. Event for strike solidarity fund.
