SETIP (Union of the Workers in Telecommunications and IT of Athens) member of PAME (All Workers’ Militant Front), and of the WFTU, we denounce the inhuman and unacceptable practices of the multinational call center company TELEPERFORMANCE in the Philippines, with the workers being forced to sleep within the company offices, on the floor and wherever they could, and all this amidst the outbreak of a pandemic.
During this last period the company has shown that faced with the continuation of their profitability, project continuation and for their objectives to be achieved, they do not care even for human lives. In Greece and in a series of countries their buildings were anti-hygienic bombs with our colleagues forced to work without keeping any distances whatsoever and without even the most basic measures of protection. All this in a company that prides in calling itself “Best Place To Work” in Greece as well as the Philippines.
The company looking for ways to keep intimidating the workers in Greece asked them to install cameras in their own homes, to monitor if the job is done properly and if their policies are being kept properly.
Dear colleagues of TELEPERFORMANCE
Amidst the pandemic the bosses care truly for only one thing, and this is their profits and not for our health and safety. The attack we workers are facing in all countries around the world is immense. Against this the workers we respond with our own weapons, which are SOLIDARITY AND COORDINATION. United we struggle and fight for our rights, our modern needs, against the wishes of the capitalists and the policies that they support.
Internationalist solidarity is our weapon!
WE CALL ALL WORKERS AND UNIONS IN TELEPERFORMANCE TO CONTACT US AND FORWARD COMMON ACTIONS AND INITIATIVES AGAINST THE MULTINATIONAL
